The Media room is coming together nice. I just uploaded some images today from the 2002 ski trip. Since I'm taking August off from the room I will make a point to add some more stuff.

Another house update Sunday, July 18 @ 21:59:24 EDT by planedoctor (533 reads) | Well I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Mid July and this should be the last few weeks.
Left on the outside is:
Trim paint, Stone, Sofit & Fascia, Gutters, Final grade, R.V Pad, Irigation System and Sod.
Inside:
Day to Day 1/2 of tile work left, Cabnets, Carpet, Doors & Trim, Electrical, Plumbing, blown insulation and all my low voltage networking, AV and Whole house audio.
Still need a little TLC to the porch walls. I screwed up using that hardy stucco boards. They look like crap. Got to get them hit with some heavy knockdown and repainted.
I have decided to let the HOMEOWNER do the touchup paint and interior doors!
I figured he wouldnt mind since I did the hard work of painting all the base boards.

New House Update Saturday, April 03 @ 21:48:25 EST by planedoctor (533 reads) | I thought I would drop a few words about the status of the house construction.
Overall the project is going OK. I wish it was a little further along, but over all we are over a major hurdle, the exterior main framing is complete. The main framing went up in a flash, and the truss manufacturing went very smooth. The truss set took a day longer then expected and it took three (3) weeks to get the truss's straightened out.
The truss problem was the biggest set back to date. We had to basically rebuild all the scissor truss's and adjust the webbing on at least 3/4 of the rest. All this was 100% cosmetic. A tough job, but well worth the effort.
Since we have moved pass this problem the project should pick up speed again. The decking on the back roof went on in a little less then a day. I expect the roof should be done next weekend.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

New Host Friday, July 04 @ 21:57:11 EDT by planedoctor (449 reads) |
If you haven't noticed, the site is loading a lot faster now. Those of you fortunate enough to have DSL or Cable wouldn't really notice.
This is due to the website being hosted on a new server. It has been a real pain in the butt moving all the stuff over here, but this host is allot better then the past.
As always enjoy the site.

Welcome Tuesday, May 13 @ 07:30:38 EDT by planedoctor (607 reads) |
Hello all,
Hope everyone enjoys my labor of love. I have been dragging my feet to complete a site for myself and family. I have actually built 2 full sites for this purpose, but never released them. The last major one I was working on for over 1 year. It had most of the same features this site has, but was 100% built by scratch. I had pored a ton of time into that site, but the technology passed it by and I was forced to give up that language and design technique and move onto a more robust language and CMS(content management system). I have had a lot of fun over the years developing stuff in cyber space. It is really a good way to keep your mind active. I can honestly say I have also had to use someone the math I learned in school.
Computer programming has a ton of algebra in it. Functions, variables and the like make up the majority of the dynamic content that's working behind the scenes on this site. I never thought in a million years I would be using algebraic equations in my life....for fun!
I hope this website will give you some entertainment. It is after all about me and my family, so it should run in parallel to my life which I hope is not to dull.

| Today in History | 1861 Abraham Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus is endorsed by U.S. Attorney General, 18,000 are jailed without a trial in the next four years. 1935 President Roosevelt signs the National Labor Relations Act protecting workers' rights to organize. 1948 War-ravaged Britain adopts National Health Service Act, which includes medical, unemployment, motherhood, widow, orphan, old age, and death benefits. 1988 After a fourteen-month investigation of influence-peddling by Reagan Attorney General Ed Meese, the independent counsel concludes that Meese "probably violated the criminal law" on at least four occasions, but decided not to prosecute because Meese had not been motivated by a desire for personal, only political, gain (Attorney General Meese declares himself "completely vindicated," but resigns his office; a Justice Department report later concludes that Meese had engaged in "conduct which should not be tolerated of any government employee, especially not the attorney general"). 1989 Oliver North fined and sentenced to prison for Iran-Contra crimes, later reversed by Reagan-appointed judges. | |
